Lwamba Chileshe | Sport2018
Hi! My name is Lwamba, but I’m better known as Lui or Lumbi to my friends. I started playing squash when I was 10, but have always loved a variety of sport. I have participated in athletics and cross country since I was about 7 years old, and still enjoy it when I’m not playing squash.
The thing I love most about squash is that we meet so many people, and you become really good friends with people from all over New Zealand, and all over the world. I have been able to travel, and see a bit of the world through squash, and I hope to continue this when I’ve finished school.
This year I represented NZ at the World Junior Squash Champs, and it was such a good experience. I learned a lot about the game and about myself.
I am hoping to keep on playing squash at the highest level possible, and my aim is to represent NZ at the Commonwealth games, and hope that squash makes it to the Olympics, so I can fulfil my dream of playing at the Olympics.
