Thomas Rawstron | Sport

My name is Thomas Rawstron, 18 years of age. I am a long jumper from Tauranga and I train 10 times a week. When I go to training, I don’t just go without a thought of it, I go looking to be better today than I was yesterday. I train super hard and I have a very clear mind set as to what I want out of my training, and that is that I want to get the absolute limit of progression in my long jump as possible. I haven’t become national champ to only be national champ, I won nationals so I can be stronger to achieve better things in my sporting career, and I won’t stop at any hurdle in my way. I have a positive attitude not only to my training, but also to my relationships, my work, and my family. I believe that creating a balance in life and sharing my eggs in each basket evenly helps me reach my goals. When I first started training, I wasn’t sure what I wanted out of it, meaning that I was training without a purpose. But the way I developed better training habits was by finding and creating goals and completing them. I am a real people person, I love to help others with their training as well as mine and I love to put in my advice when I feel it is necessary. I would love to carry on putting in my advice as a coach in athletics when my career ends because I have so much passion for the sport
