My name is Hunter Edwards, I was born in Taupo and raised in Rotorua. I started learning to play golf when I lived in Brisbane and continued when moving home to Rotorua. I was picked for my first BOP development team in 2017 when I was 10. I have moved to the BOP U21’s and BOP Womens teams where last year I was #1 seed for both teams. In 2023, I won the National Maori Women’s Stroke play and Match play titles and won my first overseas tournament in New Caledonia at the South Pacific Junior Open.
In 2023 I was selected for Golf New Zealand’s Talent development programme Phase one and in 2024 selected for Phase two.
During pennants season I play for our Lakeview Golf & Country Club Senior Men’s team.
I am very lucky to have had Paul Hartstone and my dad as coaches and very supported by my Golf club and BOP Golf. In my spare time I love to hang out with whanau and friends, go to the gym and listen to music.
