Anthony Makiha | Sport

I am intending to study a Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science at the WINTEC. The​​​​ Adastra Foundation Rising Star Scholarship would help me immensely to pursue my future path. I have a passion for sport and have been involved heavily for the past ten years. I captained the school touch team and 1st XV. I am the Sports Leader for HPC. In 2019, I represented the Thames Valley U16 rugby team. In the past, I have represented New Zealand u16 mixed team in touch two years in a row (2018 and 2019) as well as captaining the New Zealand side in 2018. This year I have been a part of the Waikato u18 Mixed Touch Team, we placed third at nationals in Auckland. I have also played in the Thames Valley u21 Mixed Touch Team, we placed second at nationals in Rotorua losing in the grand final. I was also fortunate enough to be recently selected into the u18 New Zealand Touch Mixed Wider Training Squad to participate in the Youth World Cup. I took part in the Shave for Cure 2020 and raised $1400.
