Brianna Rackham | Music / Performing Arts
2020I’m from a small town called Waihi Beach, where I’ve received a lot of support and encouragement from the community. I am 16 years old and currently attending Katikati College. I’ve been writing songs since age 9, I started out busking and attending jam sessions where I had the opportunity to make great contacts and then started performing at gigs around the Bay of Plenty regularly. I’ve had three years experience of singing at a variety of different venues for different events and charities. At 8 years old I took up dancing lessons and drama classes to help me develop my confidence as a performer. My style of music is more acoustic, indie rock, but I like to explore different styles. Music has been a part of my life since a young age, taking after my siblings who also sing, and play music. My number one supporter would be my dad who has motivated me to get where I am today.
I would like to think of myself as a strong, outgoing person. I have learnt to appreciate every opportunity that has been given to me to help towards achieving my goals. I have developed a lot of confidence through my performing, and can communicate effectively. My values as a person would be to have a strong work ethic, having motivation to work towards my goals, but also being able to make time for myself, and having fun. Having great social skills, and always being open to learning new information, and respecting others opinions and beliefs. I like to be organised and have a set idea/ plan of what I want to do and where I want to go, though I love to have a good laugh, and enjoy meeting new people. I think it’s awesome to be in a positive and comfortable environment where everyone is sharing their interests and expressing their creativity.
