2021I am 16 years old and I go to St Peter’s school in Cambridge, where I swim competitively for the St Peters Swimming Club. Prior to focusing on swimming, I also competed at a regional and national level in athletics. I strive to make the most of the opportunities I have, across sport, school work, and developing as a person. I enjoy spending time with family and friends, going to the beach.
I believe it is important to respect my coaches and fellow competitors, I try to treat people in the way I would like to be treated. I recently helped with some coaching at Swimming Waikato future swimmers to teach new skills and achieve their goals.
I have been fortunate enough to enjoy success in swimming which has led to competing in the 2019 Victorian Age Group Championship where I medalled in the 50m freestyle and in the 2018 & 2019 South Australian State Championship where I have also medalled and made open A finals.
My swimming highlight so far was winning the 16 year old age group 50m and 100m freestyle in the 2019 NZ Short Course championship, and 3rd in the 50m freestyle open age final. I also was part of the St Peter’s girls relay team which won multiple medals. I have enjoyed competing in these international events and look forward to competing on the world stage when the opportunity to do so presents itself again. To be honest, it is frustrating that the global pandemic has meant that these opportunities have been postponed. I know it will be some time for us to reach a new normal. In the meantime, I turn my attention to refining my skills and improving my fitness so that I am ready for when opportunity presents itself again.
