Jana Kivell | Sport

My name is Jana Kivell, I am from Hamilton and I play ice hockey and inline hockey. I am a Year 12 student at Hillcrest High School and have played inline hockey since I was 7 years old. Before joining the Hamilton Devils Inline Hockey Club I played the sport for my primary school teams, Hukanui and Te Kowhai. Recently, I took the opportunity to pick up the similar sport of ice hockey. What I most enjoy about these two similar sports is the fast pace and team environment. So far I have competed at tournaments in Australia, Hawaii, Thailand, Hong Kong and China. I currently play inline hockey for the Hamilton Devils U16 and Senior Women teams, as well as the New Zealand 18U Junior Women and Senior Women teams. I also play ice hockey for Auckland and the New Zealand U18 team. I work hard on and off the rink to achieve my goals and be the best player I can be for my team. My long term goal is to be selected for the Ice Fernz (New Zealand’s Senior Women Ice Hockey team) and play at the IIHF World Championship. I am a driven athlete and am focused on improving every day to get as far as I can in these sports.
