Jera Murray | Music / Performing Arts

Hello I’m Jera Murray I am 17 years old.
I love to play guitar and perform with others. I think it is such a special thing sharing music and being able to be creative.
I first picked up acoustic guitar and began lessons at 7 years old and thought it was amazing. I liked being able to make up chords and funny lyrics.
At around 11 years old I picked up Electric Guitar and it changed everything. I could now play all my favorite rock songs and learn all the cool techniques and skills around the Electric guitar. From then I spent hours a day practicing and getting more confident in performing for others. In 2021 I played lead guitar In the Hamilton Girls/ Hamilton Boys High School production Of ‘We Will Rock You’, a Queen inspired musical. In 2022 I received Distinction in RockSchool Grade 7 exam and in 2024 I received Distinction in the Rockschool Grade 8 exam. In 2025 I plan to study Music Production at Wintec, Hamilton. My goals are to be in a national and international band, create original music and later learn music production.

I plan to further study music and performance. I hope to have a band and wright some own original songs and to preform them for other as well as to learn some producing skills and maybe help produce some other band with my own.
