My name is Leah Hodges, I am a 17 year old year 13 student at Hamilton Girls High School. My passion for hockey started when I was 8 years old and has continued throughout my years at school. Some of my personal qualities include hard working, determined, driven to succeed and team orientated. Through my passion for the sport I have given many voluntary hours, umpiring and coaching junior teams who I hope I can share my knowledge and love of hockey with. One of the things I love about hockey is the people you meet and the life long friendships you make along the way. In 2018, which was my first year of U18’s I was selected into the NZ U18 training camp which took place in December 18. From this camp I have then been given an amazing opportunity of being a part of the pathway to podium program through NZ hockey. I was fortunate to be able to train and play pre season games with the NHL Squad. This meant I played alongside former and current Black Sticks players. This gave me opportunities to learn and gain new knowledge and skills that has improved my hockey.
