Over the years I have enjoyed many sports including netball and athletics however my
passion in sport is volleyball.
In 2019 I was selected in the NZ Junior Womens U19 team to travel to the USA High
Performance Championships in Florida. I was the youngest player at 15 to be selected
into this team and enjoyed the experience and learning of being part of that tour.
I was re-selected to this team in 2020 for the Asian Championships in Chongquing, China;
but due to COVID-19, this tournament was cancelled. I was again the youngest
player in this team and I was excited about the chance to play against the Asian countries
where their amazing speed and accuracy would have been a great challenge.
I was also selected into the Aotearoa Māori U18 girls team to travel to the 2020 USA High
Performance Championships in Pittsburgh.
I have represented Bay of Plenty at National inter-provincial championships over the last
two years where I was named into the tournament team each year.
I’m looking forward to training and playing volleyball locally in the next 18 months with the
hope to once again travel abroad for sport in the future. One of my goals is to study and
play volleyball in Canada or USA in the future.
