‘Ko Maniapoto kei te ngutu o te Kawau Māro’
What drives me is my culture, are my people, and my language,
I grew up fully immersed in Te Reo Māori speaking the language my whole life, throughout school, I discovered a huge passion for Kapa Haka, leading my rōpu ‘Te Wharekura o Ngā Purapura o Te Aroha’ to victory in 2019 at Te Waiwaia Competition, and the same year competing at Nationals for the Senior Kapa Haka, also achieving my UE entrance and NCEA Lvl3, enabling me to study a Bachelors In Arts Majoring in Te Reo Māori and Indigenous Studies at Waikato University. Just like my culture, I have also grown up playing rugby and have a huge drive to excel in this sport. In 2012 getting my first taste at rep rugby at a junior level. And from then to now I continue to excel.
