Hey, I’m Talitha McEwan, a 17 year old Swimmer and Surf Lifesaver from Mount Maunganui.

In 2019 I made my first ever NZ team for swimming. I competed at the Australian State teams championships, where I had many personal bests and I loved having the experience and opportunity, and from that moment I knew that this was what I wanted to do. In the following 2 years, I won the 7.5km in the open water and swam under the qualifying time for the Junior Worlds Open Water Champs, however, due to covid, we couldn’t travel.

Finally, in 2022 we were allowed to travel again, and after my performances at our National Age Group Championships, in Swimming, I qualified and got selected to represent NZ in Hawaii for the Junior Pan Pacific Champs. About a month after this selection I found out that I had also made the Junior Black fins team for Surf Life saving that would travel to Italy and race at the World Championships.
