Tom Robinson | Sport

Kia Ora, my name is Tom Robinson, and I am writing to introduce myself as a potential candidate for the 2022 Adastra Foundation Scholarship.

Since I was 10years young I have been competing Nationally in Surfing competitions right across NZ. After realising my passion for the sport, I took to the world stage in places such as Australia and California to represent our country in competition.

I am currently in my final year of school completing Level 3 NCEA. I started my secondary school education at Whangarei Boys High before moving to Raglan in 2019 to become a student of the Raglan Surfing Academy. This was the best decision of my life, and thanks to my parents I was able to fulfill this opportunity. Living away from home to chase a competitive surfing career has been a challenge, however it has taught me to be independent and open minded to new challenges.

In 10 years time, I dream to become an Olympian Surfer representing Aotearoa, and to be a successful engineer travelling the world.

To receive the Adastra Foundation Scholarship and mentoring would truly aid me in the challenge of completing my studies at the University of Waikato whilst continuing to chase my dream of surfing on the Competitive Circuit around NZ and across the globe.
Thankyou for your consideration,
Tom Robinson 🙂
