2018I am a 20 year old Athlete/Student currently studying at the University of Waikato toward a business degree majoring in Finance and Maths while training and competing both domestically and abroad in Whitewater Canoe Slalom – category, C1M.
I am working toward fulfilling my two goals of becoming an U23 medalist at the U23 World Championships along with competing at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. I live in Hamilton Monday to Thursday training on the Waikato river and in the University gym. From Friday to Sunday I spend in either Tauranga, Auckland or Rotorua paddling on the Whitewater. During a usual training block you would expect me to complete 12 to 13 trainings a week depending on whether I need a day off, it certainly keeps me busy!
As a person I need to do three things in order to be happy: I need to apply myself to my studies/training/planning/recreational time; I need to maintain robust positivity; and I need to have acceptance for myself and others.
Outside of training and study, I very much enjoy spending time with my close friends and family along with being outdoors doing activities in our amazing country that is New Zealand.
