Bailey Conlon | Sport
2023My name is Bailey Conlon, I’m 16 and I live in Rotorua with my Mum and little brother. I attend Western Heights High School as a Year 12 student. I am an S14 Para Swimmer and hold a number of New Zealand records in Para swimming. I am passionate about swimming and am totally committed to achieving my goals through hard work and determination to be the best that I can be. Some of my other interests are reading non-fiction books and gaming. I started swimming at the beginning of 2018. It has been an interesting journey that started with competing in Special Olympics Swimming and then squad training with Henk, my coach from Te Arawa Swimming Club. From there I began competing as an S14 Para swimmer and am building a pathway towards competing internationally. Te Arawa Swimming Club is my whanau, they are my tribe and where I have found my place to fit in and feel accepted by everyone. I am the feature of an Attitude Pictures programme – Being Me, Being Bailey that will air on TVNZ before the end of 2022. My life is exciting and I am looking forward to a successful career in swimming.
