Dan Caldwell | Sport
2018I grew up in the Waikato and have been swimming since the age of 12. I currently hold six Waikato Age Group records, and one Open record for Short Course, and two Waikato Long Course records. I am also studying at Waikato University in my second year of my degree in Health Sport and Human Performance. I am committed to staying in the Waikato region for both my studies and my sport. Swimming has taught me life lessons on commitment and discipline as well as time management, that I apply in all aspects of my life and has helped me achieve not only my short term sporting goals but also strive academically. Over the years I have developed a strong connection with both my coach and team mates which has made it easier for me to stay motivated and connected to my sport of Swimming. I enjoy pushing myself to the best of my abilities in training as it gives me a sense of fulfillment. Working hard is in my nature so i know I’ll always remain focused and driven to succeed in reaching my ultimate goal of the Olympics as part of the NZ relay team and in the individual freestyle events.
