I am a very highly motivated and dedicated athlete with clear goals to achieve. Every aspect of my life is tailored around achievement success in hockey from diet, fitness, gym programs academic studies and social life. I participate in hockey at other levels also umpiring and taking junior holiday programs for Tauranga Hockey Association. I am very disciplined and expect the highest level of performance at all time while seeking other opportunities to further my physical and psychological strength in order to achieve optimal results. I have achieved success in a variety of sport including and maintaining golfing success, though I have this year set clear goals to focus on hockey and commit to whatever it takes to gain success at the top levels. I am a leader in hockey both in leading by example on the turf and supporting, encouraging and up-skilling others. My family are very supportive of my goals and are all involved in coaching and playing sports at representative levels, in hockey, golf, cricket, mountain biking and gymnastics. Outside of sports I have given back to the community via coaching clinics and work hard to be a role model in all that I do. At school I have achieved success in all levels of my NCEA achievement completed thus far and hope to be named a school prefect in coming weeks. In the short term (for 2018) my focus is to achieve selection in the Midlands U18 team and the NZ U18 team also, which I am currently working towards with the support and feedback of the current midlands coaches and international hockey coach and coaching mentor, Gene Coates-Reid. In the long term I endeavor through hard work and dedication to represent New Zealand as a member of the international men’s Black Sticks and be a part of the teams success international competitions including the Olympics and World Championships and would really appreciate the opportunity to gain the support that I need through this scholarship.
