Ema Miyaura | Sport

My name is Ema Miyaura, I am 14 years old. I first started playing tennis at the age of 7 years old at Beerescourt Tennis Club after watching my grandparents play. From then I started getting some coaching and played local tennis tournaments. My first time representing NZ was December 2014 at the Australian Teams Event for Under 12’s. We lost in the Final against Australia. At the start of 2015 I won my first National Title for Under 12’s singles and doubles. In 2016 I represented NZ in the ITF World Junior Teams Asia and Oceania Qualifying Event held In Bangkok, Thailand. Overall we ended up coming 7th out of 15 countries. I also won the Intermediate Schools North and South Island Finals in 2016. In January 2017 I won another National Title for Under 14’s singles. I have now started travelling overseas to play in the Junior ITF Circuit to gain points. My goal is to play in the Junior Grand Slams as a Junior. My Dream is to one day win a Grand Slam and play at Wimbledon. In my spare time I like to go shopping with my friends, I like to bake and listen to music.
