I am 17 and a year 12 student at St Peters School Cambridge. I am a middle-distance runner and compete in cross country, road, and athletics events. I started running competitively and training as a 12-year-old and have thoroughly enjoyed my journey so far.
I am hard working, dedicated and passionate, I consistently strive to achieve my goals both athletic and academic. I am able to this with the fantastic support of my family, coach, and school.
When I was 14 I competed in my first national event and won gold at the New Zealand Cross Country Champs. This year representing the Waikato Bay of Plenty at my first New Zealand Athletics Champs I won my first Athletics National title in the U18 woman’s Steeplechase.
At the National Secondary School Athletics Champs, I have medalled every year in my chosen events the 1500m, 3000m and steeplechase and representing Waikato Bay of Plenty I have gained many podium finishes at both regional and national competitions
In 2019 at the National Secondary Schools Cross Country Champs, I qualified for the Australian Cross Country Champs where I represented New Zealand for the first time. This was an amazing experience.
This year I was selected for the New Zealand team for the World Secondary School’s Cross Country Champs in Slovakia and the Athletics New Zealand team for the Australian Athletics champs in Sydney.
Athletics provides me with a fantastic community to train and compete. I love being part of a team, both school and club. As a senior at school I can share my experiences and coach the junior up developing athletes.
I am very excited to see where my athletics will take me and already looking forward to wearing the black singlet again.
